The ES16c is a flat metal mounting ring designed for use on flat top electrics where a limited range of up and down motion is allowed, unlike a raised plastic ring, which has internal space into which the pickup tabs can move up into.

It is a very elegant item, sure to enhance the appearance of any electric, but be aware of its limitations.
