Birdseye Maple Guitar or Bass Body Blank Top

This is a guitar or bass body blank top made from 2 pieces of Birdseye Maple with some quilting

12.75 wide x 21+ long x 3/4 inch thick

Asymmetrical wild mineral streak!

When I look at this wood, I see a Mockingbird or Parker design…

Wood is surfaced on all side but has not been glued. Small bark inclusion (1/8x1/4) that can easily be clear filled.

Maple Tone
Maple is a very hard, heavy and dense wood which is more often used for necks than bodies due to the weight. By itself It is a brighter sounding wood, with very strong highs and upper midrange. While the bass frequencies are quieter, they are very articulate and with the right pickups and amp settings can be wonderful. Overall, maple has a very long sustain. This can be a great top for mahogany or alder as it will add a little definition to the highs. Just ask Gibson, PRS, and most of the top builders. The figure will not change the sound much at all.
